On May 23, 2024, CYBERDYNE Inc. (Tsukuba, Ibaraki; President & CEO: Yoshiyuki Sankai) hosted a high-level meeting with the Minister of Human Resources of Malaysia (Malay: Kementerian Sumber Manusia, “KESUMA”) and other government officials at its headquarters. The focus of the meeting was on expanding the use of Cybernics Technology in Malaysia.

The Minister, Mr. Steven Sim Chee Keong, announced plans to implement 50 sets of HAL (65 units) and various other Cybernics products at the PERKESO National Neuro-Robotics and Cybernics Rehabilitation Centre in Perak Ipoh, which is set to open at the end of 2024. This will be the largest installation of its kind in a single facility.

Since PERKESO introduced HAL in Southeast Asia in 2018, CYBERDYNE Inc., the Malaysian government, and PERKESO have worked closely to promote Cybernics Treatment. This collaboration has made Cybernics Treatment available to patients at no cost through PERKESO's public social security system. As of March 31, 2024, there are 114 HAL units in operation at 12 facilities in Malaysia, demonstrating the success of this partnership.
